People Watcher

I am a people watcher. Not just a watcher but I wonder what goes on behind the scenes. Do you ever? I mean, even your good friends, do you wonder how their marriage really works? I have one friend who is definitely an "early to bed" kind of person so I wonder if her husband has the same body clock or if he's adjusted over the years or if they just stay opposite and that's okay.

I wonder who pays the bills in families.

I wonder who cleans. Does the wife do most of it? Or does she not give a hoot and it's the husband?

I wonder how the dads act/react with the children at different ages and stages.

I wonder all of these things and a million more.

When I drive by a house-especially the "mansion-ish" houses on the water (yeah, that's the Ocean View houses!)...what is going on inside of those houses?

You know, they still have to put their pants on one leg at a time even if the pants cost more...but what are their lives like!? I don't want their lives, I just want to know what they look like. The real parts. The parts that you don't see when they're perfectly made-up.

Who makes most of the decisions regarding child rearing (discipline, etc)? Ideally it's a 50/50 split but I think in most houses it's more 20/80 probably because one parent just "does" it. And when you have multiple children (and I know a little bit about this phenomenon!) you don't always have time to have meaningful discussions about what you're going to do in each and every instance of parenting.

I just wonder. I like to match people with their cars and see if I'm right (as in what kind of car does a person with that personality drive?).

I also wonder if I'm the only one that wonders these things. ;)
